Overview

The payroll clerk will process biweekly multi-state payroll, guaranteeing pay is processed timely and accurately, maintain employee files, and provide administrative support to the Human Resources department.
Requirements
Essential Functions

Processes and maintains data in the payroll system; data may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, career events and other information
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
Produces and distributes biweekly/monthly payroll reports.
Record and maintain personnel-related data, such as exemptions, transfers, leave of absences and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
Keep informed about changes in taxes, deduction and payday laws that apply to the payroll process.
Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls with finance.
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
Train employees and management on organizations’ timekeeping systems.
Conduct verifications of employment.
Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues and benefit plans.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3+ year of Payroll Experience
2+ years’ experience with the Paylocity
Veteran Preferred

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The Payroll Coordinator completes their duties during standard business hours. The job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position: hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
