The Clinic is looking for a full-time nurse to join our team! The Clinic for Special Children considers and treats the whole child through Integrative Medicine with a specialty focus on neurodevelopmental special needs. This nurse will assist the founding doctor and work in the lab.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Nursing license to practice in NC (LPN or RN)
Valid Drivers license
Positive attitude
Good communication skills
Open to new ideas and willing to contribute new ideas
Great customer service skills
Good organizational skills
Team-oriented thinking and behaviors. Being a valued member of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with EHR systems
Ability to complete clear and concise documentation
Efficient with word processing and spreadsheet programs
Loves Children
Interest in Integrative and/or Functional Medicine
Interest in Neurological Development
Interest in Whole Child Care

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge/Experience with obtaining 12-Lead EKG
Knowledge/Experience with wound care

Nursing staff job duties will include:

Reviewing appointments with Provider and forecasting out the day
Taking vital signs and entering into an EHR
Assisting with lab orders and draws
Assisting with lab management
Administering Vaccines with Informed Consent
Enter lab orders and assist in the processing of specimens
Checking nursing voicemails and returning patient calls
Triaging sick calls and determining whether or not an appointment is necessary
Processing Prior Authorizations
Using our EHR to enter data and schedule appointments as well as check and answer patient messages

We offer an unprecedented level of attentive and personalized care. Our Integrative Medical Team consists of our Fellowship Trained Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician, Registered Nurses, a Nutrition Coach, and a team of Care coordinators. The Clinic for Special Children was founded by Dr. Karen Harum, MD, FAAP, to provide an accurate diagnosis, whole child treatments, specialty care, and consultation for children with developmental disabilities and behavioral problems including ADD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Routine pediatric care is also provided for those who need a comprehensive medical home and for typically developing children.
We believe in treating the whole child by addressing their physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs. This integrative holistic approach combines modern western medicine and evidence-based complementary and alternative healing modalities. By integrating traditional medical diagnostics and pharmaceutical therapies with functional medical therapies, we feel that we can provide the best care possible for your child.
