Overview

We are a nonprofit professional association for attorneys. Our ideal candidate has strong people and organizational skills, is self-driven, and enjoys being busy and working primarily remotely. The Events Manager will be responsible for successful planning and execution of online and in-person Continuing Legal Education webinars, section business meetings, and networking events.
Responsibilities

Planning an Event or Meeting
Maintain events calendar with information from staff and members
Arrange and distribute Zoom details for online events
Research and reserve venues for in-person events
Create e-flyer for each event using templates; create basic graphics as needed
Follow up with volunteer section leaders for program details as needed

Preparing for Events

Answer questions from members about events
Send and resend Zoom links to speakers and attendees
Gather Continuing Legal Education materials from speakers
Gather speaker bios
Send speaker welcome emails
Prepare introductory script for speakers
Send speaker releases via DocuSign

During Online Events

Make sure speakers have everything they need
Make sure program chair is ready to make introductions
Display organization’s ads on screen, drop marketing text into chat, and run
PowerPoint as necessary Schedule and run
Zoom test session as necessary
Run Zoom webinar or meeting

During In-person Events

Make sure speakers have everything they need
Make sure program chair is ready to make introductions
Display organization’s ads on screen, drop marketing text into chat, and run
PowerPoint as necessary
Schedule and run Zoom test session as necessary
Run Zoom webinar or meeting
Prepare and distribute name badges
Check in attendees
Liaise with venue

After Events

Answer attendee follow-up questions
Resend materials as needed
Send thank you emails to speakers and organizers
Make sure all program information is gathered in Salesforce
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience in events or customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in Microsoft Office and Zoom
Working knowledge of Canva, Salesforce, and Pardot, or experience with similar apps and aptitude for learning new ones quickly
Enthusiasm for working with people and learning new technology
Ability to succeed with limited supervision and exercise judgment about issues that need to be escalated

Reporting
Position reports to Operations Director and will work closely with Membership and Administration Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, and Executive Director.

Schedule

Standard full-time work week is 35 hours; some flexibility in work hours but applicants should assume 9-5 Pacific time with one hour lunchbreak.
Evening and weekend hours occasionally required for events.

Location

Primarily remote employment
MacBook and other home office necessities provided as needed.
