Position Overview:
The Director of Finance job is a full-time position and is a key role in CHD management. The Director of Finance oversees and manages daily/monthly/yearly accounting and financial analysis duties including outsourced payroll and tax/audit contractors. The Director of Finance will ensure all budgets/taxes/audits/payroll activities have been fact-checked and properly filed for the organization. This includes ensuring that contracts that involve ongoing renewable payments (insurance, workers comp, Google ad words agency, other contracted services) are up-to-date and management is apprised of any needed changes. The Director of Finance will provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization. He/she is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic financial goals for the future to ensure the sustainable development of CHD and its activities for long-term success.
 
The Director of Finance will oversee the Finance Manager and work closely with the President and Executive Director to ensure all CHD guidelines are being followed and goals are met.
 
Responsibilities 

Oversight of bookkeeping and banking; annual tax return and audit; budgeting for CHD, CHD Publishing and/or CHD Films; payroll; fundraising donations/expenses reporting.
Participate in strategic data analysis, research and modeling for senior leadership.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management budget reports and analysis including year-to-year comparison models.
Make regular financial projections required for the short and long-term financial objectives of the organization.
Prudently make investments on assets, if needed, that maximize returns.
Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization.
Ensure that CHD contracts (events, etc.), insurance/other renewable documents are up-to-date and shared with managerial staff including but not limited to: D & O, General Liability, Workers Comp, Key Man, Publishing and Film.
Oversight of CHD Chapter financing, tracking of chapter financial obligations to CHD
Works closely with outside vendor paying both employee and contractor payroll (Human Resources will submit but Financial Director plays a vital role.)
Oversee registration of CHD in every state for tax exemption by outside vendor.
Oversee work authorization in states where we have employees (and contractors) by outside contractor.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
